Der Film zeigt die alte Lahnbrücke in Wetzlar bei Hochwasser und einen Blick von der Brücke den Fluss abwärts. Die Straße "Am Mühlgraben" ist überflutet. In der Langgasse tragen sich die Menschen gegenseitig, damit sie sich nicht schmutzig machen. Vor dem Haus „Goldenes Ross" fahren Boote.

In ihm wohnte Ernst Leitz I., als er nach Wetzlar kam. Von der Überschwemmung des Jahres 1920 existiert auch eine Fotografie, die Oskar Barnack mit der Ur-Leica aufnahm.

Synopsis: The Wetzlar flood of 1920. The film shows the old bridge across the Lahn during the flood and an additional shot from the bridge down at the stream. Am Mühlgraben street is flooded. In Langgasse people are carrying each other to avoid staining themselves. Boats cross before the Goldenes Ross building, a former guest house. Ernst Leitz I stayed here when he came to Wetzlar.
